I was raised in Chickasha, OK and graduated from Chickasha High School in 2000. I graduated from USAO in 2005 with a BA in English, a BA in History, and a Minor in Liberal Arts. While there, I was active in Cheerleading and coaching, and obtained a provisional Real Estate license. I then attended The University of Arkansas at Little Rock where I received a Master in Art with a dual emphasis in Counseling and Rehabilitation Counseling in 2010. During this time, I served as a Carl Albert Executive Fellow at the Department of Rehabilitation Services, working in both general rehabilitation, visual services, and participating with panels to develop the transition program for high school students. After interning with the Apache Tribe, I became certified as a Cognitive Therapist, working for Brain Potential Institute out of Texas and also worked as a Vocational Evaluator for the federal government.
In 2014, I completed my licensure as an LPC, working over 3000 clinical hours in various community and school based mental health programs in Central Oklahoma. I established my private practice in Chickasha, Oklahoma in May of 2015 and developed and implemented The Redirection Program and The Catalyst program to aid in the increase of school and community based programs for children and families in rural areas in Oklahoma. During this time, I also worked with local headstart programs to increase and improve access to quality mental health in rural areas.
I currently maintain my private practice in the Chickasha and metro area. I also provide school based counseling services, counseling and supervision in court related cases, and am actively a Supervisor to candidates seeking Licensure as an LPC in Oklahoma. I have extensive training in Cognitive Behavioral Training, Play therapy, Perinatal Postpartum therapy, Marriage and Family therapy, TBRI, Trauma focused therapy, Counseling for individuals with disabilities, working with individuals with an IEP/IPE, and mental health coaching. I also offer guest speaking in various settings including Professional Development, College seminars, and mental health advocacy training. In addition to my professional experience as a therapist, I also have an extensive background in coaching cheer and combining mental and physical health to improve one’s wellness.
I’ve worked with a diverse population with treatment focus in the areas of depression, anxiety related disorders, cognitive disorder, trauma, transitional issues, chronic pain, LGBTQA+ issues and support, transitioning from religion, grief, and more. My primary treatment modality is cognitive behavioral therapy, exposure therapy, cognitive restructuring/challenging.
Client-centered evidence-based practice is very important to me and acts as the foundation to my clinical approach. I aim to support each person in whichever phase of their journey they may be on and wish to ensure I am utilizing the most appropriate clinical approach to meet their needs.
In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my children, crafting, cooking, doing nails and hair, choreographing cheer routines, and learning new things.
